During large winter storms near Tofino, the wave sizes and swells can sometimes reach heights in excess of 5m. Being lucky with the timing, I was able to watch this oceanic storm roll into shore while good nearby weather graced us with lots of sun. The scale of these waves ultimately instills a sense of respect and caution for the coast.
