If you want to be taken seriously, you have to look the part. This is the direction we decided on when I entered into collaboration with ski and biathlon team "Rocky Mountain Racers". Wanting to take the team's image to the next level, we decided to show the character of the athletes with something uncharacteristic of nordic ski teams: a studio shoot. For this set of images, we focused on targeted and dramatic contrast with an all black background. We set our sights on punchy colours, rich blacks, and bold emotion from the athletes. The result is a shoot that is as ambitiously shot as the athletes are in their racing.
